Padua is a few minutes from the Riviera del Brenta and Villa Gasparini : here is the embarkation meeting point, the Portello steps.
A short but pleasant city tour of about 1 hour and 45 minutes ; the boat’s a typical Venetian one, the peota, which will go along the Piovego, the river which bounds the city of Padua in the north.
A privileged and unusual river perspective, from which you’ll have the chance to admire the frenetic rhythm of urban life and the monuments which were most important for the history of Padua between the 15th and the 20th century : the Portello 15th century steps, the ancient river port of the Republic of Venice, the historical gates Portello and Molino, the bridge of delle Grade del Carmine, the bridges of Molino and of San Leonardo.
From Padua, you can easily return to Villa Gasparini by bus or by car.

Destination for pilgrims and believers from all around the world, the Basilica of Sant’Antonio in Padua represents one of the building you should visit : the guided tour will start here and later continue through the historic centre : from the three squares dei Signori, delle Erbe and dei Frutti, to the Palazzo della Ragione (outside), Palazzo del Bo, Café Pedrocchi, Cathedral square (outside).
You’ll take part to a convivial lunch in one of Padua typical restaurants.
After the lunch, the embarkation at the Porte Contarine on “La Padovanella”, a typical Venetian boat. During the pleasant and quiet navigation along the Piovego, you’ll have the chance to admire the most historical monuments of Padua from an unconventional perspective : the Portello 15th century steps, the ancient river port of the Republic of Venice, the historical gates Portello and Molino, the bridge of delle Grade del Carmine, the bridges of Molino and of San Leonardo.
A unique opportunity to see the walls, the ramparts, the palaces, the churches and the monuments of Padua, which you can admire in their highest magnificence from the river.
The return to the Porte Contarine will be late in the afternoon, passengers will be disembarked, tour and services will end.
Whether you arrived in Padua by car or by bus, the car park and the bus terminal of Piazzale Boschetti are both a few steps from the disembarkation location. With the bus line “Venezia” you get to Villa Gasparini directly.

After a night spent at Villa Gasparini you can easily get to the Terminal Fusina. The river will guide you for 8 kilometres up to the car park: thanks to a special agreement, you’ll only pay 4 Euros for the whole day.
After driving for some minutes, you’ll be ready to leave from the Terminal Fusina to the southern Venetian lagoon : the colour of the sea looks like the sky, full of little stars, the smaller islands, with their small surface but of infinite beauty.
The first stop of this tour will be the Lido with its salty scent, the most famous beach of Venice, once a popular destination for celebrities.
The tour continues towards S. Pietro in Volta and Portosecco, charming small towns on the island of Pellestrina, whose colourful houses help fishermen find their way to home. There are lots of well known restaurants on the little island of Pellestrina, where the air smells of fish everywhere.
The boat will take you to Chioggia, considered as a little Venice, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour.
The lunch will be served on board and will be based on fish specialties, prepared following the Venetian tradition recipes.
In the afternoon you’ll get to the isle of San Giorgio where you’ll visit the church of San Giorgio Maggiore, one of Andrea Palladio’s sacred architecture greatest works.
A slow panoramic view will accompany you through the San Marco basin before returning to Fusina.
