Here’s another edition of the Carnival of Venice which will leave visitors astounded.
The Carnival will transform and colour the city for three weeks, with masks, dances, music, traditional Venetian frittelle – typical sweet treats of the Carnival season – and many, many colours.

The Carnival of Venice 2013 edition is dedicated to colour, and the numerous and colourful masks will remind us of the power and the joy enclosed in its every nuance.

Venice New Year’s Eve 2013: romantic and exclusive from the Riviera del Brenta to San Marco with the shuttle boat!

Venice, the city of love, is waiting for you in order to celebrate the colective farewell to 2012 with love in the most famous “living room” in the world, among kisses, toasts, fireworks, future hopes and renewed promises.

A trip by bike among venetian villas with a final rest in a private garden of an historical dwelling is an experience not to be missed, expecially among the beauties in the Riviera del Brenta.

You can rent a bike with the maps at Villa Gasparini and then leave for an enjoyable day’s sport or training, after a week spent in your office (with the sense of guilt beacause you haven’t found the time to go to the gym).

A country break among culture, art and relax in the mise en form, with a great bellyful a the end.

Discover at first the artistic heritage in the Riviera del Brenta: venetian villas. The map will help you to recognise them and, if you want, even to visit them. From Villa Pisani, with the most beautiful park in Europe and its, to Villa Foscari called “la Malcontenta” by Andrea Palladio, passing by Villa Widmann and Villa Valmarana.

At the end of the tour you will have the chance to relax under the shadow of a centuries-old tree, the hampers full with delicious food prepared with love by an ex restaurant, that likes good cooking and good wines.

FESTA DEL REDENTORE 2012

The Festa del Redentore is one of the most celebrated events in Venice.

It is the celebration of the end of the pestilence in 1577; venetian people commemorate that according to the most rigorous tradition, where religious and profane aspects go together.

A bridge of boats is mounted and people can reach on foot, on pilgrimage, the Chiesa della Giudecca, built in vow at the end of the terrible pestilence.

As tradition at the sunset the boats, decorated with branches and coloured lit up Chinese lanterns, reach Bacino San Marco and the Canale della Giudecca.

On the boat you consume the dishes, that are prepared following the tradition of venetian cooking, expecially fish products as sarde in saor (fried pilchards pickled with onion, vinegar and pine kernels), folpeti (boiled octopusses with salad) and many others.

Waiting for the fireworks display, that starts at 11.30 pm and lasts well into the night, you have dinner, then you can sing and dance with the company.

It is typical to dive by night after having spent many hours eating, but also drining the typical prosecco.

There are also thousands of visitors who take part to the Festa del Redentore, admiring in the background the unforgettable beauty of Bacino San Marco, that lit up with the warm light of the sunset, giving a suggestive spectacle.
